Rich Simons is Head of Application Science at AquiSense Inc. and has spent the last 15 years at the leading edge of UV-C LED system design. Completing his PhD at Imperial College, Rich joined AquiSense in 2016 to help deliver on the promise of UV LEDs for water treatment applications. Since then, he and AquiSense have sent their technology to all seven continents (and even to the space station) and have been pivotal in expanding the state of the art from just 1 litre per minute in 2016 to more than 400 litres per second today. Rich is a chartered engineer and takes an active role in internal R&D, external research collaboration, and the development of technical standards. Rich is also a founding member of UV SAFE, an industry association promoting next generation technologies to remove mercury-added products from water treatment processes.
